We held two private raffles to raise college scholarship money for seniors at Summit High School, Kaiser High School, Jurupa Hills High School, A.B. Miller High School and Fontana High School. We donated a total of $5000 to these scholarships this year.
A Patrol Officer was on patrol and came across this group of young boys playing basketball on their homemade basketball court. The Officer contacted the Fontana Police Foundation members and they swung into action. Members of the Police Foundation purchased and put together a brand-new basketball court. They delivered the court to the boys and their parents couldn’t believe that something so nice and thoughtful was done for the boys. The boys instantly began playing on their new court.
In 2023 all funds raised for No Shave November were donated to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. During the month of December K-Frog had their 22nd Annual Stater Bros. Charities K-FROGGERS 4 Kids Radiothon at Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamonga. The Foundation went to hand deliver the $10,000 check for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. During their event Stater Bros. Charities was tripling donations made up to $4,000, so our $10,000 donation ended up being a $22,000 donation for the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
We donated money to the Fontana PD’s annual Shop with a Veteran event. Which allowed shopping at Big Lots with some of the local veterans. Some of these veterans defended our freedoms in the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and other military engagements. It was an honor to meet these hero’s, and a very humbling experience listening to them tell their stories and sharing their experiences.
We donated money to the Fontana PD’s annual Shop With a Cop event which allows less-fortunate kids in the community to shop for Christmas presents.
The Foundation donated to JG Baseball, AYSO Fontana Impact U12, AYSO Fontana Impact U16, and Summit High School Football Team.
We donated money to the Fontana PD’s annual Shop With A Senior event. Fontana PD officers and police staff volunteered to come in and shop with a senior citizens from our community. Each participating senior was given a $120 gift card to shop for items that can help improve their daily living conditions.
Donations have been distributed to non-profit organizations that support cancer research and provide financial assistance to families of children suffering from severe illnesses.
Your support will also help fallen officers and their families in your local community and across the nation. Help during devastating events such as these is critical for our officers and their loved ones.
Community programs such as scholarships, little league support and officer-led activities are also directly impacted by your donation. Without your support, many of these crucial programs would not exist within our community.
The Fontana Police Foundation is a non-profit organization. We are comprised of three labor groups- the Fontana Police Management (upper management sworn officers), the Fontana Police Officers Association (corporals and police officers), and the Fontana Police Benefit Association (non-sworn professional staff). The members of the Fontana Police Foundation volunteer throughout the year to raise capital to help fund charities, programs, scholarships, or special events within Fontana.
The mission of the Fontana Police Foundation is to advance the effectiveness of police through community relationships in the greater Fontana area.
Our goals are to support the families of fallen officers, reduce community tension, reduce community deterioration, and reduce juvenile delinquency through community engagement and providing resources that are not readily available. We believe in the importance of improving police professionalism through research, education, and training.
